A little about why I do this work: My doctoral research looked at a simple but stubborn question, how does real transformational change actually happen? Not just in a moment, but over time, in a person, then in a team or organization, and eventually in a whole city. What I found is that the leaders who end up shaping their communities almost ever start there. They start by getting their own house in order, then their team, and the city follows.
